Our Sunshine Senior Specialists will pick up the client at their home or meet them at the first community. In many cases, a family member will also be present for the tours. We will introduce our client to the Marketing Director of the community who has received prior to the tour, a client information sheet with our assessment so they know already quite a lot about the client. The Marketing Director will do a brief discovery of the client and then take us to see apartment styles, community amenities, and if falling over a lunch time period we will dine in the dining room. We generally see 2-3 communities in a day, averaging 2 hrs per tour. If client needs to see more communities, we arrange another day to do more tours. Once we narrow down the best choices for our client, we encourage them to go back for meals and possibly a social event so that they can meet other Residents and get to know their future home. If the client decides on a community, we will be there to assist them with lease signing and any sales negotiations and incentives that can benefit them.
The initial consultation is completed on the telephone and takes about 20 minutes. During this call we discover knowledge about the senior in need of placement - their current living situation, medical and care needs, financial limitations, lifestyle and social needs and geographic preference. The conversation is generally with the adult child who is searching for their parents but can be directly from a senior in search on their own. Next step is a home visit which allows us to visually see the client and their surroundings. At this time, a more in depth physical, medication, memory and financial assessment occurs. Our Senior Placement Specialists will now be able to discuss appropriate Senior Living options to our client and their families who generally are also in attendance. Then we will set up appointments to tour 3-4 appropriate communities.
